St. Louis Park Public Schools has announced a new environmental camp partnership for fifth graders with Camp Ihduhapi. Beginning in the fall of 2017, fifth graders from Aquila, Park Spanish Immersion, Peter Hobart, and Susan Lindgren will attend two days of camp, with two days of related curriculum in between. Students will be bussed to and from camp and there will be no overnight stay involved in this new camp format.
After a two-year process that began with the Strategic Plan and included a Learning Design Team and extensive public input process, the School Board voted 6-1 on April 24th to place a $100.9 million bond referendum before voters in the November 7, 2017 General Election.

High School students, parents, teachers, and community members spoke during Open Forum at the April 24 School Board Meeting to voice their support for a Gender Inclusion Policy for St. Louis Park Public Schools. The speakers would like to see a policy implemented before the start of the 2017-18 school year.
The St. Louis Park High School Theatre program is preparing to present its spring play, “Sense and Sensibility” on April 28-30 in the Carl A. Holmstrom Auditorium at the High School.
Ethan Brown, a senior at St. Louis Park High School, and the Editor-in-Chief of Echo, the school’s award-winning student newspaper, has been named the Minnesota High School Journalist of the Year by the Journalism Education Association (JEA).
